Book Reviews
_This review is from: Journey into the Knight (Paperback)
After reading The Forgotten King by R.L. Edinger, I wanted more and
ordered another of his books. I was very pleased when Journey Into the
Knight arrived. I could not wait to begin another journey with Andrew
Knight, the Private Investigator.
What I found as I delved into the book was more than one journey. I was catapulted into several mysteries, one after another. As soon as one was solved, we were on our way to another. Some I could figure out, others I had to wait for Andrew to find the answers. With each case solved, I was finally able to put the book down. Moving from short story to short story was a great way to experience the "life" of Andrew. You are drawn into his world and see people, places, and things through his eyes. He has a way with making it easier to understand the when, where, why, and how of each scene. If you have not had the opportunity to read this book, I encourage you to do so. It is a good book and with the format (short stories) it will be a good one for you take with you to read while waiting for appointments, between chores, while the children nap, etc. Also, if you haven't had a chance to read The Forgotten King, order them both and let the journey begin!
This review is from: Journey into the Knight (Paperback) "I love writing; it is in my blood, my very soul. Some days it consumes me; sometimes it is a heavy cross to bear." This is what R.L. Edinger, the author of Journey into the Knight, read to me when I attended one of his book signings. It is written in his preface, and as I continued to read his stories, I noticed the author's passion spilling from between the words and consuming the book. Journey is a collection of ten masterly written, intense short stories that share one thing in common: for each cold trail, arson or murder, Andrew Knight is on the case. As a private investigator, he takes clients from a variety of situations and mysterious backgrounds; sometimes the case becomes personal and Andrew has to grapple with his own violent anger.
